The San Diego Chargers' fourth season was in 1963, and it was the fourth season Sid Gillman served as the head coach of the team. They finished the year 11-3-0 in the regular season and 1-0 in the playoffs eventually winning the AFL championship against the Boston Patriots 51-10, the team's first championship win. At the end of the season, Tobin Rote was awarded with the AP AFL Player of the Year award.
