The Detroit Tigers' inaugural season was 1920 as the Detroit Heralds. During the decade, the Heralds had a record of 3-8-4 during the regular season and not a single game in the playoffs. They won zero division titles. In 1921, the Heralds changed their name from the Detroit Heralds to the Detroit Tigers.
