The Detroit Lions' twelfth season was in 1941, playing their home games at Briggs Stadium. During the offseason they hired Bill Edwards to lead the team. Edwards had never previously coached in the NFL in any capacity before the 1941 season. They finished the season 4-6-1, 3-2-0 at home and 1-4-1 on the road.
