Biography
Career Summary
Dennard Wilson is a football coach in the National Football League (NFL) and has been the defensive coordinator for the Tennessee Titans since 2024. Prior to this season, he coached for the Chicago Bears, Los Angeles Rams, New York Jets, Philadelphia Eagles, and Baltimore Ravens for sixteen seasons. His most recent position was with the Ravens as their defensive backs coach.
Playing Career
College Career: University of Maryland
Wilson played college football at the University of Maryland from 2000-2003. He saw significant playing time his freshman season, playing in six games and starting one, until a knee injury sidelined him halfway through the year. His sophomore year, he played in ten games while the Terrapins went 10-2 and won the ACC for the first time since 1985. By his junior season, he was the starting strong safety on the team that finished second in the ACC and won their first bowl game since the 1985 season. After another successful season his senior year, he was named honorable mention All-ACC in 2003.
NFL Career: Washington Redskins
After his time at Maryland, Wilson was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Washington Commanders. Wilson injured his knee early in training camp, and was placed on the team's injured reserve list. After the 2004 season, Wilson retired from professional football.
