Hines Ward was a football coach in the National Football League (NFL) from 2019 to 2020, finishing his career as the wide receivers coach of the New York Jets. Over his two years of coaching his teams compiled a cumulative win/loss record of 9-23-0.

Playing Career

He was drafted in the third round with the ninety-second pick in the 1998 draft to play wide receiver for the Steelers. Ward was expected to be drafted in the first round. However, during the pre-draft process, it was discovered that he lacked an ACL in one knee due to a childhood injury, making him a high-risk draft choice for a team.
