The Dallas Cowboys' fortieth season was in 1999, and it was the second season Chan Gailey served as the head coach of the team. The Cowboys played their home games at Texas Stadium. He was fired from the Cowboys on Monday, January 10, 2000. They finished the year 8-8-0 in the regular season but they lost their first playoff game to the Minnesota Vikings 27-10.
