The Miami Dolphins' forty-third season was in 2008, playing their home games at Dolphin Stadium. During the offseason they hired Tony Sparano to lead the team. Sparano previously was the assistant head coach/offensive line coach of the Dallas Cowboys and had nine years of coaching experience in the NFL. They finished the year 11-5-0 in the regular season, en route to winning the AFC East, but they lost their first playoff game to the Baltimore Ravens 27-9. At the end of the season, Chad Pennington was awarded with the Comeback Player of the Year award.
