The Miami Dolphins' ninth season was in 1974, and it was the fifth season Don Shula served as the head coach of the team. The Dolphins played their home games at Miami Orange Bowl. They finished the year 11-3-0 in the regular season, en route to winning the AFC East, but they lost their first playoff game to the Oakland Raiders 28-26.
