The Miami Dolphins' fourteenth season was in 1979, and it was the tenth season Don Shula served as the head coach of the team. The Dolphins played their home games at Miami Orange Bowl. They finished the year 10-6-0 in the regular season, en route to winning the AFC East, but they lost their first playoff game to the Pittsburgh Steelers 34-14. At the end of the season, Larry Csonka was awarded with the Comeback Player of the Year award.
