The Houston Oilers' twenty-fifth season was in 1984, playing their home games at Reliant Astrodome. During the offseason they hired Hugh Campbell to lead the team. Campbell had never previously coached in the NFL in any capacity before the 1984 season. They finished the season 3-13-0, 2-6-0 at home and 1-7-0 on the road.
