The Denver Broncos' eighteenth season was in 1977, playing their home games at Mile High Stadium. During the offseason they hired Red Miller to lead the team. Miller previously was the offensive line coach of the New England Patriots and had seventeen years of coaching experience in the AFL and NFL. They finished the year 12-2-0 in the regular season, en route to winning the AFC West, and 2-1 in the playoffs, eventually losing to the Dallas Cowboys 27-10. At the end of the season Red Miller earned Coach of the Year and Craig Morton earned Comeback Player of the Year.
