The Kansas City Chiefs' forty-seventh season was in 2006, playing their home games at Arrowhead Stadium. During the offseason they hired Herman Edwards to lead the team. During his time in the NFL he was head coach for five years. They finished the year 9-7-0 in the regular season but they lost their first playoff game to the Indianapolis Colts 23-8.
