The San Francisco 49ers' sixtieth season was in 2005, playing their home games at Monster Park. During the offseason they hired Mike Nolan to lead the team. Nolan previously was the defensive coordinator of the Baltimore Ravens and had eighteen years of coaching experience in the NFL. They finished the season 4-12-0, 3-5-0 at home and 1-7-0 on the road.
