The New England Patriots' thirty-second season was in 1991, playing their home games at Foxboro Stadium. During the offseason they hired Dick MacPherson to lead the team. MacPherson previously was the linebackers coach of the Cleveland Browns in 1978 and has a total of five years of coaching in the AFL and NFL. They finished the season 6-10-0, 4-4-0 at home and 2-6-0 on the road. At the end of the season, Leonard Russell was awarded with the AP Offensive Rookie of the Year award.
