The New England Patriots' twenty-seventh season was in 1986, and it was the third season Raymond Berry served as the head coach of the team. The Patriots played their home games at Sullivan Stadium. They finished the year 11-5-0 in the regular season, en route to winning the AFC East, but they lost their first playoff game to the Denver Broncos 22-17.
