The New York Giants' sixty-fifth season was in 1989, and it was the seventh season Bill Parcells served as the head coach of the team. The Giants played their home games at Giants Stadium. They finished the year 12-4-0 in the regular season, en route to winning the NFC East, but they lost their first playoff game to the Los Angeles Rams 19-13. At the end of the season, Ottis Anderson was awarded with the Comeback Player of the Year award.
