The San Francisco 49ers' forty-first season was in 1986, and it was the eighth season Bill Walsh served as the head coach of the team. The 49ers played their home games at Candlestick Park. They finished the year 10-5-1 in the regular season, en route to winning the NFC West, but they lost their first playoff game to the New York Giants 49-3. At the end of the season, Joe Montana was awarded with the Comeback Player of the Year award.
