The Detroit Lions' seventy-seventh season was in 2006, playing their home games at Ford Field. During the offseason they hired Rod Marinelli to lead the team. Marinelli previously was the assistant head coach/defensive line coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and had ten years of coaching experience in the NFL.
