The Detroit Lions' nineteenth season was in 1948, playing their home games at Briggs Stadium. During the offseason they hired Bo McMillin to lead the team. McMillin had never previously coached in the NFL in any capacity before the 1948 season. They finished the season 2-10-0, 2-4-0 at home and 0-6-0 on the road.
