The Washington Redskins' forty-first season was in 1972, and it was the second season George Allen served as the head coach of the team. The Redskins played their home games at RFK Stadium. They finished the year 11-3-0 in the regular season, en route to winning the NFC East, and 2-1 in the playoffs, eventually losing to the Miami Dolphins 14-7. At the end of the season, Larry Brown was awarded with the AP Offensive Player of the Year award.
