The Baltimore Colts' first season was in 1947. During the offseason they hired Cecil Isbell to lead the team. Isbell had never previously coached in the AAFC in any capacity before the 1947 season. They finished the season 2-11-1, 2-4-1 at home and 0-7-0 on the road.
